This is for my work on the album “Rammstein” as it is a pretty hefty project that I thought I may as well share.
I am extremely pleased to announce that recording of Auslander is finished, there are a few things that I have done differently in the song and the main one is not to drag out the last chord of the riff as recording it was a nightmare and trying to get the ringing to perfectly coincide was pretty tough for where I am at now.
The entire song is double tracked with little to no issues with timing, guitar tones are being sorted then its just mixing mastering and release.

Probably not, Im a pretty shy person and wouldn’t really want to do that, I am looking at doing instrumentals until I can find a way of getting Tills voice. I decided to triple track it so i can have center and LR. I can definitely see how it is easy once you have the hang of it.
I am just doing guitar covers btw, backing tracks are used.

This is not close to the finished product, the guitars are still DI but I driving myself crazy with a debate of, is it right or wrong, I know that Richard and Paul tend to play behind or in front of the beat but it doesn’t sound right to me. I played it the way I felt it so maybe its just unique but I thought it best to seek others opinions.

Just a quick update, this was going to be a project that was going to be done by the end of summer but It does not seem as though it will happen, in this clip, compared to The studio take, there are definitely latency issues, at the minute I am unable to find a way to resolve it as I automatically default to how I have played it in the riff as its what feels right but obviously when doing covers it is not about that.
I will have to think of something else to work on, most likely more save me but Im pretty gutted to have to write this.
Sorry if the commotion made about the project was sorta annoying, thought that it would get done.

I’m still waiting on you to upload the video of you playing the lead lick in “Deutschland”! Have you had any success with that? And yes, you’re right. The guitar is off time. I just double-checked the original song and you’ll want to have the snare as your main metronome count. The guitar’s rhythm is based off the snare’s count. And it sounds like you’re trying to do it with the synth. I would practice just with the snare track to get the timing right
BTW- I LOVE that you are such a HUGE Rammtein fan. You are always talking about trying to create their sound. I also love that you’re getting practice with recording and mixing this type of music but please for the love of God….this kind of music is fucking SEEEEEXXXYYY to me so PLEASE promise me you’ll write your own badass stuff when you get comfortable with it! Rammstein won’t be around forever and who’s going to fill my need then? DO IT! You’d be great at it!

Thanks for such inspiring words Jak honestly means more than you could imagine, the Deutschland riff is something that I have been practising but can’t record due to only having on guitar that is set up for drop c and that is having maintenance work done.
Rammstein is an absolutely amazing bamd and I have spent an ungodly amount of time trying to tweak everything to the point where I am now on the hunt for a pre 500 mesa dual.
The Auslander riff was a first for me in a lot of ways as it is the first recorded song all the way through and the first one to a backing track. It got daunting really fast due to such a big void to be filled and I would never try to blame that for why it didn’t turn put right but that was definitely a factor. I honestly dread recording but it has to be done.
I have written some riffs to Rammstein style drums but they seem to be more thrash than Neue Deutsche Härte.
That would be really cool Anna, once I get the instrumentals sorted I will send them over.

My new plan to tackle this is to record the tracks with the original song, I will then find a backing track and place it in. I will have to learn how to play to a backing track but seeing how I wanted to do this over a few weeks I feel this is the best approach.
I plan to do the album again in 6-12 months as a progress tracker.
Thank you all for your continued support.
