Watching some videos off YouTube today. Tool first.

2 things.
1. Lead singer hiding in the shadows so you cant take a pic of him lol.
2. Watching the guitar player the entire time the cameras on him. Noticing the times hes going up and down an octave in his riffs. It’s what makes them so damn catchy.

I am a little confused that none of the videos in the post are actually from this years Rock am Ring.
Having said that, Tool was AMAZING live. Easily one of the most stunning concerts I ever saw. And Maynard didn’t evene hide in the shadows
Slipknot was absolutely sick, their setlist killed it but it was so full you couldn’t move at all in the first rows and the crowd went nuts so I was more busy with not dying haha.
Other than that a personal highlight for me was Godsmack! They killed it.

I’ve seen Godsmack in everything from a 20,000 seat arena to a 1,500 capacity club, and they always kick ass. Funny thing, the last time I saw them was on that small club. My daughter is a HUGE fan, and her favorite song is Serenity, which they NEVER play. She spent the whole week before the show annoying the crap out of me with “OMIGOD I HOPE THEY PLAY SERENITY.”
Sure enough, halfway through the set, Sully says, “You know we never play this fucking song – it’s been forever, and tonight, I just feel like it, so here you go” and he kicked into Serenity.
    How bout that?

Saw godsmack just last month. If I wasn’t standing behind 3 6ft tall fat sweaty guys would have been a very enjoyable show. Even in the tiny little arena though they kicked ass! Volbeat is most likely my favorite live band. They always put on a good show and play their hearts out.
