    In this tutorial, we are going to discuss oriental and exotic scales. So, let's have some fun.

    2. Oriental scales

    The oriental scale, which has its origins in China, can be built with the following formula:

    Semitone-Tone and a Semitone-Semitone-Semitone-Tone and a Semitone-Semitone-Tone

    As you can see, it's a scale with larger intervals than the ones we are used to working with.

    Let's take a look at a C oriental scale. It consists of the C, D♭, E, F, G♭, A, B♭, and C notes.

    3. Exotic scales

    Exotic scales are a group of scales that are based on certain countries or cultures and they can be found under different names.
