I don’t know if I ever even saw that one.
For our friends here from outside the United States, the “American Flag” is the flag you’re most familiar with for us – it is the flag of our country and (for most) a symbol of hope and unity. The Confederate flag is that of the southern United States in the mid-1800s, when the American Civil War happened. Though it “pretended” to be a flag of “good ole boys” and Southern pride for a number of recent decades (who doesn’t like “The Dukes of Hazzard,” right???), in reality it has always been a symbol of hatred and bigotry, as the Civil War was primarily about slavery.
Not intending to start any political discussion here, just wanting to provide clarity for friends outside the US. Thanks!
