Scream – Guitar Tuning

Hello everyone, few weeks ago i bought Scream tab from halleonard, on the 1st page it says that song is in Drop D but i saw many people on YouTube who played it in Drop C in tutorials, so – which tuning is suitable? i know HL sells official tabs but it’s a little bit weird that so many people play this song in Drop C.

It is possible that people change key due to copyright. I would advice using your ear just to see what happens when you play the frets indicated by the tabbook

I learned it in Drop Db, which is the studio recording. Drop Db is right between drop D and Drop C.

Noah is correct, drop Db. Or….. you could play it in drop C#!!!

Although alot of a7x is in drop d
Im almost certain scream is in drop c#

It is in fact in drop C#. For those of you not familiar with the tuning, it is essentially drop D tuning(low E down a whole step to D) but down a half step. From low to high- C#, G#, C#, F#, A#, D#

Thanks for the respond Syn, now it sounds correctly, btw. amazing song. I tried to learn lead from Hail to the King but it’s a little bit difficult for me. I’ve been playing for like 10 months.

Haha sorry I misunderstood. I can understand why hail To the King is too hard. I’ve been there. You will definetely get there though! Good luck with practicing scream!

With many Synyster solos, there is a first half that is fairly easy to play. And then it gets to the second half and I just fall right off the fretboard (like Second Heartbeat)

I think in Scream it’s in reverse order haha, it doesn’t look that hard but the speed kills me. 3 months of learning for me or even more.
