JOIN THE DISCORD VIEW THREADI'd agree, I'm focusing both of themShredding will get you noticed more. Trust me. I could release 25 songs here and not one person will have anything to say (or like the post)but post a 30 second.clip of you doing a shred job and you'll probably get likes and views.
Depends on what your Goal is. The sad truth is that you are more likely to make tons of followers and "online fame" with mindless shredding on Instagram than with good songwriting. Hell, nobody on social Media has the Attention Span to listen through a full songHonestly, shredding will only get you anywhere if you combine it with good songwriting. If you want to shred learn how to shred but don't neglect the songwriting. A bad song with lots of shredding is still going to be a bad song, a good song without any shredding is still a good song.
Perhaps that's true but even for a one minute piece mindless shredding gets boring real quick and there's still some songwriting required to keep the Listener's attentionDepends on what your Goal is.
