So I saw these things that go on your neck to stop unwanted noise. I am sure one of you professionals will understand my idiotic bable and know what I mean lol are they worth the money?
String mutters? Yeah I’d say they are. Especially for recording. Although I wouldn’t souly rely on these. Practise your technique so you don’t need it.
@richard but string mutters sounds funnier haha! I’ve seen some people use just a long crew sock that’s kind of old. I honestly wouldn’t ever use them except for recording purposes
I’m part of the long sock crew. Use a clean one though!
Edit: Legit answer, I only use it on rare occasions. They’re handy for recording but I’d never use one live.
You’ll only want them when recording so you can get the cleanest take possible, BUT no point in spending your hard earned bucks on them when a sock or bandana will do!
I’ve actually started threading those little cotton-makeup-remover-wipe-bwoiis through unwanted strings too, and it works insanely well.
If it’s string buzzing you want to get rid of,that’s all down to the set up.
If you get on YouTube and look up the videos of Syn recording in the studio you can see he uses a bandana I think and when I saw him play live in Nashville he used his right hand to covered the neck by the headstock to mute the unwanted strings in the afterlife solo.
