hi guys i want to share with u my fellow brothers and sisters some tips that helps me with playing guitar, the first is to start slow super slow depending of the duration of the notes that you’re playing, for example 50 bpm with sixteenth notes and practice it every day increseasing up to a maximum of 10 bpm and practice it again and again that day, then the other day you should start at 60 bpm ( if you can’t play it at 60bpm it’s because of two things, or your fingers are not warmmed up or you didn’t nailed it) so in case of the first just try it a few times and when your hands are warmmed up you should have no problems, if you keep having trouble at that speed slow it down again until you reach 60 bpm and don’t go forward that day until you can star playing from the last speed you’ve reached without any complications this may be slow for some people and for other will be fast cause they will nail it in a few hours of practice, but don’t feel bad if you’re not one of that lucky people, with time and effort and the correct technicque you will be there sooner than you tought :). and second one: if you’re having trouble with an specicif part or motive when you’re practicing stop and practice only that specific part for a couple of minutes with the metronome and when you feel confortabable with it keep practicing the whole lick that you’re doing until it gets really perfect. this may help someone 🙂 and remember don’t increase the speed if you can’t play it perfect otherwise you will fall on bad habits or the innapropiate technicque.
if you have your tips or other things you want to throw in of what i said feel free to do it 🙂 thank you for your time buddies, cheers!!

My number one tip for practicing: HAVE FUN WHILST DOING IT! It is very easy to get caught up in taking guitar way too seriously and forgetting to enjoy yourself in the process. I’ve been playing for 9 months. I’m not the best player, I still make stupid mistakes and my practice sessions are a disorganised mess jumping from one thing to another, and don’t even get me started on theory! But it doesn’t matter, because I enjoy it. Play what you like, and enjoy the learning process!

totally cause if you don’t you will get tired and may lose your passion and we don’t want that but you need to practice things one by one cause jumping from one thing to another you will never gonna progress too much cause you don’t have a solid foundation and i could say this cuz it happened to me for almost 6 years and believe me you don’t want that to happen to you 🙂 but at least try to practice something really hard before jumping to another one, for example you’re working on alternate picking work it for 1 week straight and don’t touch other lessons until you really nail it, the go to another one cause many other skills requires that you dominate other skills at a descent level so jumping off will make you stuck 🙁 but i like what you said about have fun while you practice and play 🙂 do crazy licks of your own investigate in other things or other styles and have fun while you do this 🙂

I have an other tip for practicing. The way i practice is making my own weekly routine of exercises and i register every exercises in a microsoft word, paper or whatever and i register the bpm of the exercise too, right now im playing four exercises at day for only 15 minutes each one so i don´t burn my self. When i feel that one day im playing that exercise perfect the next day that i play that excercise i play it 5 bpm faster and if i feel that im not improving i play that exercise 10 bpm slower. The way i chose that excercises was choosing that tecniques that i wanted to improve so you can choose the exercise you want or even a solo or a song that is hard for you.
Sorry for my english mistaques, english is´t my natal language

I definitely need to employ this more in my playing. I’ve adopted some bad habits over the years but number one is definitely that I’ll try to play stuff at full speed too soon and it’s turned me into a sloppy player (especially in learning solos!)
I’m having to start from scratch with my playing and start right back at the beginning to develop my accuracy but it’ll be worth it in the end!
    Fantastic advice Ezequiel!
