In the song at the beginning of the chorus after matt sings "care at all" syn opens up with a lead not on the origonal track, basiclaly what im asking is if anyone knows anything more about this lead because my ears suck and i really wanna learn it and play it in my cover of the song
I would suggest listening to it and practicing along with it till you get it right. But what will help is slowing the track down and humming along with it. When I struggle with learning a part I do that and it helps greatly. Hope it helps.
Can you provide a clip of which part you're talking about? I know the part he does from the "Live in the LBC" live version. Which is the harmony of the original lick.
If you can provide me a clip or a link to a clip and the time stamp I'll be happy to help out!

My dude. Listen to what these men said. Listen to the record, grab your guitar, and play along. You’ll find out that you have undiscovered abilities and talents. Being a good guitar player takes time. What Brian did there is art and it will take time to be able to express yourself like he can. Stick with it. The payoff will be immeasurable.
