I don’t really know if they’d count as exercises, but I have a few things I do to warm up – I start off with running over a few basic chord progressions (For example – C, Am, F, G, etc.) gradually working my way up to slightly harder chords and such, then I go over a few scales, mainly Am Pentatonic at the moment. I also do a slightly altered Am pentatonic, so it uses all the same notes of the scale, but they’re just put together like a short little solo going from high E down to low E. Sometimes I’ll also do a more technical exercise focusing on hammer-ons and pull-offs, which includes hammering on and pulling off as fast as possible with each finger, working on one at a time (One fret per finger) for approx. 5 to 10 seconds before moving onto the next finger. From there, I just go into working on songs given to me by my music teacher. 🙂

I just run through the major and minor scales slow-fast all over the neck it helps with speed and getting the blood flowing, then I will just calm mute some power chords as fast I can down picks and up picks until I feel I’m warmed up.

I usually run through some simple riffs I like to get the blood going to my fingers, then I’ll run through some portions of Steve Vai’s 10 Hour Guitar Workout to get the fingers loose. After that I usually get into what I wanted to practice and in between just noodle around to keep nimble.

playing master of puppets at 90% speed. Im more of a rythm player and its just a song that puts me in the mood. Also helps keeping my downstroke picking up to norm! After that, I practice a couple scales and whatnot and just have fun

depends on what im working on honestly.. if I’m jamming my songs I’m probably playing my songs through and through.. but if I’m working on a improv lately I’m just running that scale up and down.. most these days are mostly pinky related.. changing it up from 1 2 4 to 1 3 4 to get all fingers in sync.
