D standard. On a 24 fret guitar you dont really need those last two notes IMO, and I personally love the full chord over a finger, however, I also do drop C strictly for the bassy breakdowns. I’ve always played D standard tho, made it easy to learn motley crue. I learned more crue over Avenged as obviously it was easier to learn and I played to the carnival of sins DVD, so it was always a riot. But ideally D standard allowed for some crue and Avenged without retuning.
I like half step down too ala alice in chains but after a while I just learned to play all my stuff on one tuning so I picked the lowest. And Capo for half step down if needed.

It depends on my mood, I have 2 electric guitars and 2 (cheap) acoustics. I have my acoustics tuned to standard E, one has steel strings, and the other is my nylon. On my electrics, I have a Yamaha Pacifica W/ tremelo tuned to standard E but sometimes drop D, and my Jackson Rhodes style Flying V, that I usually have it tuned at drop c for heavier sound and “lighter” feel. I will sometimes change up my tuning on my flying v but plan on keeping it the same for now because of the Floyd Rose Tremelo
