Over the past 6 months I’ve been playing multiple different tunings on multiple guitars and so far I’ve noticed myself growing fond of D Standard (Full step down)
I practice and write in drop C. Helps with transposing and sounds heavy as anything.
I have a pretty big question though while we are on the subject. I am playing 9s and i’m in drop c but if I were to up the gauges to balance tension, would it screw with the neck or not, I used 10s in standard and it bowed but I assume if I drop tune and up gauges it should equal out?
In my experience, it might equal out depending on your guitar. I always have mine adjusted professionally after I string it. Once a year and $20 and it no longer becomes my problem lol
