I am STILL doing lesson 23-28 because I personally feel that’s where my playing has evolved the most. There’s so much to absorb in those lessons that I can’t possibly move on from it yet. Also, I’m working on another Avenged Sevenfold cover that is one I started to learn the solo to, improved on, and then kind of just dropped. I’m also going to break out my classical guitar again and finally try to learn Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy by Tchaikovsky, who is one of my favorite composers.
Oh! And I would LOVE to see some videos in the riffs section with students applying the lessons! The reason why, is because it helps me and other students see how these lessons could be applied in ways that we may not have thought of. I remember when Ids posted a gypsy jazz lick that was based out of one of the lesson’s scale patterns, and he taught in on a video. I said, “What the fuck? You can do THAT with that scale?!” Immediately I tried to learn it. It was hard, but it was fun!
Don’t forget “inflection” in your playing, guys and dolls! It’s the boss’s orders Have a great week, everyone!
