What Lesson Is Everyone Working On This Week?

I am STILL doing lesson 23-28 because I personally feel that’s where my playing has evolved the most. There’s so much to absorb in those lessons that I can’t possibly move on from it yet. Also, I’m working on another Avenged Sevenfold cover that is one I started to learn the solo to, improved on, and then kind of just dropped. I’m also going to break out my classical guitar again and finally try to learn Dance Of The Sugar Plum Fairy by Tchaikovsky, who is one of my favorite composers.
Oh! And I would LOVE to see some videos in the riffs section with students applying the lessons! The reason why, is because it helps me and other students see how these lessons could be applied in ways that we may not have thought of. I remember when Ids posted a gypsy jazz lick that was based out of one of the lesson’s scale patterns, and he taught in on a video. I said, “What the fuck? You can do THAT with that scale?!” Immediately I tried to learn it. It was hard, but it was fun!
Don’t forget “inflection” in your playing, guys and dolls! It’s the boss’s orders Have a great week, everyone!

I’m not really doing any proper lessons at the moment because I’m still figuring out Brazil by Django. After that I really really want to learn while my guitar Gently qeeps. And when I’m done with that I’m gonna put all the songs of which I own the music(+ some extra including all of Syn’s etudes) into a box and pick songs randomly.
Thanks for the compliment on that riff

Hello Jak!
How are you doing?
As I said in previous forum posts, I never wanted to properly learn the correct theory of guitar. I just wanted to play songs that i liked!
And nowadays I see that it was not that good of a decision… But that is part of it haha!
So now I decided to restart the theory in order to learn everything the right way.
I am currently at the major scale part – The 7 shapes of the major scale.
And I am just trying to improvise in some jazz and blues backing tracks to really learn how to use the shapes by heart.
YES! Inflection is the main key when i am improvising, because “1 note can say more that 60 fast notes” haha. But jokes apart, I really think that Inflection it where a guitar player can show its feeling through music.
I plan on recording some guitar improvisation today. I hope I can post it later on!!
Keep rocking!!
G.
