Depends on what type of extra noise you're looking at trying to cut back. If you're trying to to improve your tapping skills or a trying to track a solo a fret wrap could be a could investment. Some folks use just a sock or a couple of hair ties to wrap around the first fret of the guitar to cut back on any excess noise. Matt Heafy, Guthrie Govan, and Jason Richardson are a few guys I know of that use fret wraps especially when playing intricate and fast parts. If it's just in between playing songs like when you're taking a quick breather it's probably easier to just mute with your palm. Hope that helps man.
Ben Eller has a lot of excellent content on his channel! I've been watching his videos for about 6 months now and I've definitely learned a lot from him. His video on floyd rose tuning and maintenance helped me a ton when I first tried retuning my floyd rose equipped Schecter.

Exactly! He gives you good information as well as the how and why you should use it. His way of explaining it always seems to make sense and is easy to understand what point he's trying to get across. That's why I prefer his channel over say Rick Beato. Rick has a ton of great info but with some videos it seems like you need to be at an upper intermediate level in Music Theory just to have a chance at grasping the lesson in the video. Once I build a better foundation of music theory I'll try going through more of Rick's videos but at this point Ben is easier to follow along in the video compared to Rick.
