Seize the day ( half progress/half encouragement for my fellow beginners)

This video is more about words of encouragement than it is my playing. If you take the time to watch, I hope my words help at least one you guys. šŸ’•
ā€œItā€™s not a sprint, itā€™s a marathonā€
And we love you!!!!

You are so right Alicia! This is not meant to be a sprint but a Marathon!.

For someone who is playing 10 months..you are kicking all sorts of ass and the bravery you demonstrated to us by sharing this with is commendable!

I fucking love this soo much you don't even know!

It may take 2 days or 2 months.
But you practice and you enjoy the journey. If you could play all immediately it wouldn't as good as mastering something after working hard for it. In the hard work lies the reward!

Again thank you for sharing!

You are so right ! It does feel immensely better when you know youā€™ve put in the work to get where you are ! Doesnā€™t matter how long it takes, as long as you push through and keep going !!!! Thank you brother for your kind words !

Getting frustrated might turn you away from anything, I heard your bend back down was smooth there. The timing on those is difficult, cool video : Syn :

This is sooo true. We all fuck up. And especially when recording, it is particularly hard to turn of that little voice saying "you want to share this with people, don't fuck it up", which makes it even harder. And we always want to show ourselves from the best side on the shallow world of instagram and facebook.

It is hard to really break out of this train of thoughts, and it almost made me quit before. But you are right, it is a marathon and not a sprint, we should focus on our love for this beautiful instrument and enjoy the journey, and give ourselves enough credit on the progress we make, no matter how much quicker other people seem to get it (most of the time, it only seems that way and they struggle just as much).

Yesss ! šŸ™ŒšŸ» Exactly!!!! Iā€™ve wanted to quit so many times for the same reason because. I think a lot of us just starting our journey have all felt this is some way, shape, or form.

You can insert emojis via the little smiley face icon at the top of your text box.

@Alicia Willis :poop: I only have a couple, this is the only cool one.

I use to be really shy playing guitar, I loved going to Guitar Center after work and just play with the toys. I always tried to hide where no one was around and barely turned the volume on. Sometimes I heard people playing and I tried to sneak a peak or listen. I was just too hard on myself, I remember the employees being helpful and nice.
I couldn't change my strings and drove to GC and was expecting to pay like $20 for the guy to change my strings. He was like "No dude" and he taught me. He showed me one string and he gave me this string changer tool to use. I expected him to sit and watch me do it, but he just walked away, came back said "Good Job!" and said to keep going. I ended up buying the tool, was like $5. I remember going back to him to buy an acoustic, he recommended me a Yamaha, he said it was a little bit cheaper version from the one he had. Bought it, was a great guitar! Like $120, I knew he worked on commission. Never forgot how to change a string :D

Thatā€™s awesome dude ! I love stories like that. We all want to learn and often times we are discouraged or just self conscious and worried, but if itā€™s something you want to do youā€™ll get there. Doesnā€™t matter how long it takes. As long as youā€™ve got that passion thatā€™s all that matters. At least to me anyways. I always wanted to play but never had the patience for it and then I got to the point I though I was too old to learn, but thatā€™s not true either.
