Yah lol. A7X is definitely an influence of mine. I've really admired Syn's guitar work for a long time but if we are gonna be honest everyone on this site has alittle A7X influence lol. I hope that my band doesn't sound like a regurgitated a7x lol but I can't hide the fact that they heavily inspire my guitar playing.

It's not overly derivative. Influences are meant to be worn on your sleeve, so that's why it's important to have many of them - it gets you away from sounding like a clone.
