I'm sure they use the chords as well but I wouldnt be surprised of they overdubbed the single notes as well in the recording. It definitely sounds that way atleast in the beginning riff. And the turn around.
Awesome first start! Very well done! This was one of my first tunes too.
When you're jumping up to the 13th fret and going 13-12-13-12-13-12, This is slightly faster than the rest of the riff. We are playing 13-12 three times. I'd definitely recommend practicing this part of the riff on its own to make sure you get that bit 100% with the speed and slide.
Also, Tony Iommi alternates between single notes and power chords.
Hope this helps!
This riff isnt power chords. Infact its single notes. Looks like you finger picked it. No issues there but you may wanna invest in some pics too. Altho fingerpicking in it's own is pretty beautiful sounding too.
haha yes of course it's single notes, to be honest i found a video on youtube playing songs with one finger only and since i'm a beginner and like ironman song i clicked. yess i wanna learn its solo but kinda hard. Thank you so much dude!
Actually all the videos I watched to play iron man accurately as popular ( by " The Art Of Guitar" and some other channels) include all powerchords in the main riff
