SGS Collab - Rock Solo

Here is my take on the collab solo after practicing it for a while. Is it clean enough, does it fit the track well? @Aileé Guerra Aréizaga @Filip Tomiša @Ids Schiere
I also have the files without the backing track should we decide on this to be the final version! \m/
Pretty cool! It does sound a bit like you start running out of ideas at the end. I would probably put the melody/motif in the middle and shred in the beginning and the end(like In Afterlife for example). It does sound clean enough to me.

Nice! Sounds great! One thing that I think that you did better in the previous version is the tapping part you start playing around 0:14. In this version you do it 4 times but in the prevous one you did it 3 times and I think that that sounded better.

I actually like that ending part melody. That's also what I got good feedback on last time

I know exactly what you mean! But I also played it pretty sloppy the first time and so when recording this it would not have synched up with the fast part of the backing track, which I found more important. So I added a half repetition to it.

You could just let that bend ring out for a bit and then start tapping and it would sync. That bend would replace that tapping part and it would give the solo some room to breathe. Also if you have 3 bars of tapping instead of 4, that first one announces what's going to happen for the next two bars, whereas 4 bars kinda let you know that the solo will repeat 4 times and then change after that and it will sound like you are overdoing it. That's why I think 3 bars are better.

Hm. That's not a nice bend to hold onto. Maybe I just add another (double stop?) bend before the tapping.

This is much cleaner Dom, that is a great improvement! However you aren't quite up to speed, you are falling behind the track and it sounds like you are constantly catching up. You don't have to go full blast all the time, you can build up to the fast part and have that be the cherry on top.

Am I? I did not notice or felt that. Maybe look up my newer video. I made a second one today in which I took the advice from Filip and Ids, maybe that's better

Edit: It's definetly not slower paced though
