I am currently trying to make major adjustments to my picking technique so that I use my wrist instead of my elbow to guide the movement. At the moment it takes a lot of focus and conscious thought, but I know that if I just stick with it, it will benefit me greatly in the long run.
I've been through things like this before, and in each instance all it took was time and persistence to overcome them and each time it made my playing better.
I reasoned every time that I would rather do it now than further down the line in my playing when it would be even harder to unlearn.
This one may be the hardest to unlearn yet, but I know I can do it, and I'm so happy I can share my thoughts with a like minded community.
