    How long to practice?

I got Gunslinger, Afterlife, Bat Country, Roman Sky and most of The Stage up to a performance-ready level on 1-4 hours a day (~2hrs average), 6 days a week. I would also practice the hardest items first in your sessions (after you warm up), as your mind is not fatigued yet, and you usually...

    Hand exercisers?

Never had to use one. Usually if your hand gets tired that just means you need to put in consistent practice on your guitar for a few weeks and your hand will get stronger... BUT there are a few minor technique improvements that must be used if you want to avoid creating that excess tension...

    Synyster Gates Custom S Questions

Some frets on different strings that are the same note (example 12th fret E string, 17th fret B string) Both are the same E- note pitch, do not offer the same pitch on the harmonic mode for some reason, that's just the way it is. If you can't achieve any squeelies ever, either your battery is...

    Synyster Gates Custom S Questions

When you say the sustainiac "doesn't sound quite right" can you elaborate? Or maybe post a video of what you mean? What Hector said is true, and as long as the strings don't touch the pickup when fretted you should be in good shape. The closer the sustainiac is to the strings the faster it will...

    Where should I learn theory?,

There are a billion theories out there.... One way to quickly find something relevant to you is to google what you are interested in currently on guitar, then look up youtube videos about that theory and find some that resonate with you. (if you don't know anything specific, start browsing...

Not good tempo, but good note choices?

I feel like it's a good start. Good note choices for sure. I would recommend adding in some different bends to the most emotional notes of the phrases, that would add a ton of character to the overall vibe... it's like adding the perfect spice to your food! ;)

Not good tempo, but good note choices?

I've wired one before, it took me about 90 minutes (and not too much headache lol) if I remember right... you have to have a solder gun tho. The wiring diagram is kinda intimidating at first, but after you start examining it and following the instructions, it will fall into place.

    Key vs Scale?

"Key" and "scale" basically mean the same thing. A key is what scale the song is played in. It applies to all instruments in the song, unless noted otherwise.

Not bad except for the last couple notes were a little outta sync. Just gotta work on your timing a little :)

Great job for sure... your cat did not run in terror so good job on that lol To add one more thing to what Ezequiel said, I would try to get used to picking without your ring and middle finger staying in contact with the guitar. If you do what he says, it will happen naturally anyway I suppose.

    Sweep Picking II

When you try to play it is there a specific part of a phrase you have trouble with? Sweeping is made up of half a dozen of smaller techniques, all must be learned in order for it to sound good. If you want to get better, I would recommend making a video of you playing and explaining in your own...

    Tapping X

Hope this helps :) PS: Syn wraps his fretting-hand's thumb around the neck to mute the lower strings when he taps. You can check live videos of him playing the intro of The Stage for an example, but this is only achievable if you have really big hands and or long fingers lol

Yea nothing wrong with that, you sound great regardless. Basically the sustainiac is an active pickup that Syn plays with in that solo (and many others) with the flick of a switch it offers infinite sustain on notes, and can also turn notes into harmonics based on which setting you are using. If...

I like how you play with feeling!.. and on top of that accuracy! And you did it without a sustainiac and STILL made those notes last and sound juicy as hell!
