    New amp suggestions

I agree. I am about 200% satisfied with mine, especially with the 1x12 cab. If I didn't have it then I would want to try out a 7w katana mini for bedroom use.

    Check this out

    Pretty cool.

Any Advice For My Bending Troubles?

Developing proper callouses on your fingertips will help a lot, at least it did for me. If your fingertips are soft it’s easy for your skin and multiple strings to all smoosh together into a chaotic mess.

Who all is gonna see Papa Gates on the “Freedom to laugh tour”??

I wish I could. It sounds great. It looks the closest event is something like a 10 hour drive away from me.

    Advice on improv

I developed how I “see” the notes on the fretboard by making a gigantic ms paint document mapping out all kinds of arpeggios and the main major/minor pentatonic within different scale boxes based on what was convenient for my fingers to do, which meant a mix of chord shapes and string skipping...

    Need help to make adjustments

5th or 6th fret isn’t where I would expect the fret buzz if it was a truss rod problem. Usually the truss rod only needs adjusted for seasonal changes. Just to make sure I understand the situation correctly- are the new strings the same as the old strings? If the fret buzz is only on one string...

    Needing Feedback

Right now I don’t have a good setup to record myself or do videos, so I dunno. There’s something I’ve been thinking about recently that I might as well “think out loud” about here. As humans we are informed and motivated by what we see other people doing. If you see a rock star on stage, maybe...

Do the backing vocals fit the chorus?

I strongly prefer the second one.

I just found out something about sus chords

I noticed this not too long ago, shortly after joining this site. I was reviewing tapping different arpeggios and gave myself a moment of confusion with this- “didn’t I just do this exact same thing? Why tf am I playing the exact same notes for multiple chords?” Haha good times. Music is fun.

Help! (Again, m sorry for being so naive🤞)

On a related note sometimes pro guitarists will have someone off-stage handling certain effects for them, like kicking an overdrive or autowah on and off at the right times. A quick example, this is how Jim Root of Slipknot gets his ‘wah’ sound in the chorus of “Wait and Bleed” during live...

    How Is Everyone Doing?

I’m still here. Recently I’ve been spending more time focusing on my health- physical therapy for my bad shoulder, making good meals, and being sure to have time every night for as much sleep as I could possibly need.

    New Player struggling

Here’s a few key things to know- #1 a lot of songs are super difficult to play because music is, at the professional level, a competition. Four months isn’t enough time to get even 1% as good as someone who has been playing guitar full-time “sink or swim” for multiple decades. #2 it’s normal to...

Anybody ever felt like this before?

There’s an important life skill which is difficult to learn, but I guess now’s the time to learn it: you need to be able to emotionally go your own separate way. If your mom doesn’t want to give you encouragement to help drive your guitar progress forward, then you’re going to have to find your...

    advice on tremolo picking

Tremelo picking can either be an intentional number of notes in time with the music, or it can be playing notes as fast as you possibly can without caring about any details. Both are valid techniques, and I’m sure you’ve heard examples of both. Black metal, death metal, extreme metal, that whole...

    So any gamers here?

I’m a long-time video game addict, to the point where it has massively held me back in life. I would rank Skyrim as the best easygoing game of all time, and the dark souls series as the best PvP games. First person shooters can be fun, but I would usually rather go to the range with one of my...

    A Little Humor

I literally practice in a closet so that other people don’t hear me. It’s a fairly big closet, but just lol.

    "Hot Chocolate Chat" Episode 2!

I liked it. For me the one trick to improving speed that has worked the best is to not allow myself to screw up and get sloppy, like ever. It sometimes feels like I can destroy a week’s worth of progress with ten minutes of not paying enough attention.

    Needing Help on Lesson 25

“Reach” on guitar is generally just learning to warm up, relax, move in the correct way, and use the correct body/guitar positioning. Hurting yourself is wrong. As I recommend at every possible opportunity on this forum, massage the front and back of your forearm before doing anything requiring...
