You're awesome @Aileé Guerra Aréizaga
I always feel scared playing in front of others. The other night I picked up my acoustic and played in front of some guys from work and I messed up so bad. But it was fun. You're right, do it for yourself, not them.
Shit man you got some fucking monster hands making that stretch.
But for real, thank you so much for the stretches! They felt good on my hand. I'll start incorporating that daily and see where we can go from there.
@Dominik Graeber Look who's talking with the longest most we'll known running joke in the school. I want to keep making these, though, this vid was actually pretty fun to make
@Dominik Graeber it might just be because it's in the beginner section, but yeah I'll get Chad the Almighty God of Kings right next time xD that was a pure, unscripted first take. I'm not comfortable talking to the camera. And thank you for the suggestions!
I love it so far. And the option to upgrade to a 100w seems exciting should I ever get that far.
Also I uploaded last weekend to the beginners corner my redoing of the intro. It's still choppy but I switched from the pick to fingers so I call that a little victory
Planets is actually one of the few songs I just haven't been able to get into. I don't know why, I'm just not into it. Brompton Cocktail however is amazing. I would say right now as far as deep dives go I'm into Angels from The Stage. And The Dancing Dead from Diamonds. I love hearing Matt...
@Dominik Graeber Glad to see your face in your profile pic and not Corey Taylor's this time haha.
And @carlosmqr I'm feeling your pain on trying to find people to jam with. There aren't many people where I am that devote time to things besides drinking. I found one guy who plays guitar but he...
Gotta hate when that happens! I played for a few minutes in front of some guys from work today and felt clumsy as hell. Messed up on things I've been practicing a lot, lost grip of the pick, misplaced fingers, etc. It's all about getting the practice brother 😂
In the last minute when you started on the outro, it sounded hesitant. Like there were smalls gaps in the notes that weren't intentional. But overall it sounded really fucking good man, I love that tone you have
Don't forget to breathe, stretch, watch your posture, and drink water. Loosen up, don't be so tense. You got this, we believe in you!
I honestly have nothing else to add that wasn't said earlier but it's still important to not be so rigid.
Hey guys, still working on nailing down the timing basics. I've been using a metronome a lot more lately and right now I'm practicing something that includes hammer ons and pull offs at the beginning and end of each measure. Do you usually hit those ho/po notes as a half note inbetween beats or...
These are mine and I'm 5'7, 160. There's still plenty of room to move around so I guess you'd say these are on the baggy side of hoodies (1st image is the M, second is the S)
I have 2, one medium and one small. They're pretty fitted so if you don't usually size up I wouldn't. I sized up when I got the medium and it was too loose and baggy so that's my lounging around one now. The small is a slim fit on me that's what I normally get
@Ids Schiere that's what I'm figuring. Thank you! I think this week the main chunk of practicing will go towards timing and this kind of lesson so next weekend I'll make a follow up video
So in the etude I followed yesterday, and it seems to be a commonality, is a simple 4 beat per measure backing track. His first "slow" run through was 1/8th notes; 2 notes per beat. Then he did 16ths; 4 notes per beat. I couldn't keep time with the 2 notes per beat so I doubled the bpm and went...
