    Melody & Motif - Lesson 2

@Syn Gates I'm curious about this, too. Was the Fractal sounds modeled after The Stage? Or did you also use it on the actual record?

    Dorian & Voodoo Scales - Lesson 6

We've all done it. And it's fine for learning. It helps us with muscle memory, etc. But ultimately, it has to become about melody.

    YES! YES! YES!

    Color Chords - Lesson 9

Absolutely. It's actually easier to play diminished and Mel min, etc. over color chords. The more notes in a chord, the more options you have.

    Minor 6th/ Dominant 9th Arpeggios - Lesson 12

They are indeed magical. My fav is the minor 6th over the altered V chord. So you play an E7#9 and play an Fm6 arp. Basically it's notes from the E altered scale. The Fmin 2nd arp works the same way. Love the "outness" of it.

The Guitar Fretboard Layout – Lesson 6

I have small hands. It seemed impossible to play certain chords and scales when I started. It's just like lifting weights. Practice and make those stretches as often as you can. Your muscles will strengthen and you'll be able to play all this stuff before you know it. Good luck!!!

    New Album

I honestly make it a point NOT to talk to Syn about A7X business. We have enough to talk about with the school and our personal lives. I will say this - A7X has done a stellar job at always sounding like A7X while never repeating themselves. I'm confident their next album will push boundaries...
