I'm going from memory, and well, around here on this site, only PG is older than me, so the memory... well, what was I sayin?

And, well, if the guy that designed it says JVM, then JVM.. It will take me a while to work through a 3.5 hour YT vid, though :) .

Syn had said a couple times that the architecture was closer to the 5150, and in fact, the model he uses in the Fractal to imitate his tone is the 5153 Red 100w head. He'd probably have to weigh in, because I doubt I could fine that thread (it was way before the last site upgrade), but I do...

I don't beat around the bush, brother. You say "ask me ANYTHING," and that's where my curiosity led me. Glad to hear it's in a good home. Papa and Junior are the Goods, and I'm sure McKenna is too. That probably means you're alright too, unless you're close with Johnny.

Well okay, if the second A really means "Anything," then my first logical question is WHAT MADE YOU SPECIAL??

    Electrical/Wiring help if anyone needs

That's an interesting idea. I may tray that before I just bring it in. It's definitely not the cable, I have a dozen other guitars that are fine.

Okay, your chord changing and fingering are remarkably relaxed and confident - this is HUGE. Your strumming pattern is off from the song, but you're still very much in time and consistent. And you've got Wonder Woman looking over your shoulder, which is always helpful. You are a lot farther...

    Electrical/Wiring help if anyone needs

Okay, so when I check the 500k TONE pot, I get .529. When I do the same on the 500K VOLUME pot, I get .009. I think I've got a bad volume pot?

    Electrical/Wiring help if anyone needs

Standard 500k pots. What reading should I be looking for, and should I just jump the two outside lugs on the pot, or something more specific? (huh, I didn't even see the question about the killswitch and sustainiac - sorry for interfering there!)

    Electrical/Wiring help if anyone needs

Not a sustainiac - the syn gates passive pickup set. They're normal 4-wire humbuckers https://synn3r.com/collections/pickups/products/synyster-gates-signature-set-tremolo-black

    Electrical/Wiring help if anyone needs

Okay, I'll bite. I put a set of Syn pickups in an Ibanez I have. I'm not great at soldering, but all the connections appear solid. However, both pickups sound weak and "flubbery," like they're definitely not operating at full power. Since it's both, I don't think it's the pickups (and I know...

Buzz on Acoustic after dropping down a half step

Bow of the neck is set by the pull of the truss rod one way and the pull of the strings the other. If a guitar is setup really well with low action, dropping the whole guitar a half step would very likely change the bow enough to cause buzz, because it significantly alters one side of the...

No, 12 bar blues is a type of chord progression, not a drum beat. These are two different conversations. This one is just about finding a cure for not being able to follow a metronome. Here, I made a quick video for you. It's a rock beat, but if you do 12 bar blues stuff in it, it sounds kinda...

Time is 4/4 - 4 quarter notes per measure. if you program a closed hi-hat hit on every measure (like the 4 beats of a metronome) and then add a kick at beat 1 and snare at beat 3, and then loop it, you should be set.

    Semi-fretless - Music is Win

So, Tyler Larsen ("Music is Win") had an itch to try a fretless guitar, so he called Paul Reed Smith (how cool would that be?), and Paul one-upped him with a better idea: The guitar is fretted up to the 11th fret for clean chords and melodies, and then fretless after that for some very slide-y...

The idea is that if you're not using a click to keep time to, then a simple drumbeat - yes, kinda MJ or disco or something - very simple drumbeat that will serve the purpose, which is training you to keep time with EVERY BEAT. If you're using a metronome as a starting point and not paying VERY...

I would urge you to use the metronome to represent a drumbeat in your head. It will make it easier to follow. For example, if you were doing it as standard 4/4 time, then each click would sound like a hi-hat hit, with the first also being a kick drum and the third a snare. Try imagining it that...
