    Hi, My advice would be to take it one by one. So first choose your root note, then choose an interval, for example the Major second and check that compared to your root note where are the Major second intervals... and which ones you can reach in all strings. Do this in all positions, so find...

    Instead of years and years of scale and chord shapes, I would learn intervals on the fretboard right away. Intervals, all day, all night.

    Picking fast

    Practice slow. Practice with metronome. Control every picking movement (be aware how you pick every note, up stroke or down stroke) Increase the speed a little by little. Be consistent. ... and check out Syn Etude's in the School section. : D Good luck and be patient! :)
