I injured myself last summer and lost a decent amount of blood. I was the same way after getting back. It sucks but there’s nothing to be done unfortunately than drink plenty of water and get some rest
I think I know exactly what you’re talking about. On my acoustic (Yamaha FG700S), it slides out extremely easily and I could go online and purchase another for extremely cheap. If you can remove it and replace it with another, that would probably be all you need to do. I’m not sure what model...
I think Syn somewhere made a comment that MIA was one of the hardest solos he’s written (Feel free to correct me from the man himself if I’m wrong, haha!).
For me personally, I’d say The Stage for sure, Exist, Scream, and Afterlife.
I totally respect the music made by people who are DJ’s or electronic artists etc. I find deadmau5’s creative process really inspiring and dubstep has always been one of my guilty pleasure genres (I know, i know). What they do is a unique craft in and of itself with a lot of really creative...
I’ve gone back and forth with friends about this tons of times. By all technicality and definition, what they’re technically making on their MacBook *is* music, but does their creation garner as much respect as Jimmy Page? SRV? Syn? Papa Gates? Paul Gilbert? Guthrie Govan? Jeff Beck? I would...
I started on electric and I don’t remember any scenario where that’s hurt my playing or learning. I actually didn’t buy my first acoustic until I’d been playing for about 3 years. There are valuable things you can gain early on from an acoustic such as a bit more finger strength early on and the...
I really appreciate Chris Z. His breakdown of the Buried Alive solo was very helpful for me learning the first half. He’s clear and concise and thorough.
I focus more on the end of the pick rather than the thickness. I prefer sharper points for shredding, as the regular pick ends have too much slide and scratch. So I use Jazz III’s and Ultex sharp mainly, around 1.14 is the sweet spot for me.
Ed nailed it. I had this exact same problem but it happened a bit more slowly so I could fight it a bit better. Floyd’s are a real PitA when it comes to getting just right because it takes longer, and you gotta generally adjust it simultaneously with the neck/truss.
I use both my phone and a recording interface depending on how much “work” I wanna put in. If I’m simply recording something for reference or a quick demo, I’ll record it on my phone. If i’m putting together a larger piece, I’ll use my interface and mic.
1) Is it any good? That would be your opinion honestly. Tone is subjective, and if you reeeeeeally like the sound, then go for it!
2) Digital and solid state are really increasing in quality. In this case I believe digital simply refers to the onboard effects, although the specs from Sweetwater...
Updated collection
Pedalboard
Updated since the last time a post like this rolled around. The two Schecters are my best guitars, the Les Paul is my oldest one I’ve owned, and the Strat and Epi-Tele are cheap beaters that I got for pennies on the dollar.
Volbeat. I can’t get enough of them lately.
Dance Gavin Dance never gets old.
I’ll never not recommend Oceans Ate Alaska.
Wage War is a headbang machine.
Gojira also has a few pretty good songs.
These are what come to my mind right now. Hikari by Oceans is one of my top 5 metal albums to listen...
