    There is also Presonus Audio iOne you can check out as an interface.Ed mentioned Ezdrummer from Toontrack and i agree,it is definitely a great investment for recording.

    There are many great software options,it really all depends upon how much you are willing to spend.I currently am using Sonar Platinum.

    Try the Harmonic Minor scale.That will get you started.Also the Hungarian Minor scale.There are a few more but those were the easiest for me to learn.The notes for E Hungarian Minor are:E,F#,G,A#,B,C,D#

    Writing my own music is one thing but I have been working on getting out of that comfort zone and work on my timing.My sweeps are weak too and that is my top priority at the moment.

    This guy is awesome,thank you for sharing! In response to Julian,Robin Nolan is excellent and has classes and a you tube channel.Great style of guitar to learn but very difficult to master.

    Recording yourself playing.

    Syn,You are absolutely spot on,we all have imperfections and make mistakes.Even when I can play a part perfectly in a practice session, when I go and record I sometimes will screw it up.It can be super frustrating but you have to try and relax and do your best.Throigh mistakes is how we learn.
