    Sensitive Skin on Fingers

    I had no clue how to word that title, lol! Anyway, I battle super dry skin all winter long and HAVE to use lotion on it. Otherwise, it cracks and bleeds, etc. How do you all deal with super sensitive finger tips? Tonight, I'm pressing down as hard as I can on the strings working on chords...

    I don't follow a lot of guitar players but I'm watching The Grand Ole Opry live on YouTube and they've got this gentleman named Tommy Emanuel playing. Holy cow. This dudes fingers are flying up and down the fret board of his acoustic in a blur. Is anyone else in awe some of the pickers out there?

    I want to save up for an electric and read in a previous thread that the beginner kits are good. I saw this one, it's marked 'blemished' but it'd be something I could save up for a little faster. Is it worth reserving one at this price or is there something I should save up for that's better...

    Arthritic Hands

    I don’t exactly have arthritis, but I have serious joint issues in my left hand that make the fretboard on my acoustic hard to handle sometimes. What can I do while practicing to help this? I have an octave plus reach in my hands but they don’t always curl onto the fretboard to make playing easy.

    As one who reads music, I find myself frustrated because I can’t find the notes on the strings very well. Is it important to know the notes on each string in the beginning? Should I tamp down my sight reading desire for now?

    Acoustic question

    When I go through the tuning lesson, how do you know how much pressure to put on the strings? When I tune, it sometimes sounds like the strings are “muted”, if you will. Is it just trial and error?
