Acoustic issue

So.. my roommate Had a guitar that needed strings. When i restrung it.. i i guess the strings were tightening ad they settled cause the one piece cracked.. the plastic piece that holds thr strings in place buy the base of the guitar. Ill post a pic later. Anyways.. it sounds like it would havr needed a truss rod fix bur since that piece broke.. were kind of stuck. My question is is this worth fixing ourselves one.. and two anyone know an estimated fix cost? Its literally juay the plastic piece at the base im on my way to work or id get a pic.

Need a pic to know exactly what part you’re talking about, and also need to know about the value of the guitar – hard to say if something is worth fixing without knowing the price point of worthiness.

It sounds like you are talking about one of the bridge pins being cracked? If so, these are easlily replaced and inexpensive too.

Not the pegs.. but the plastic piece right before that. With the site going down again just catching up to this. All it is is for support but with it broken like that it sounds out of place. Ill take a pic tonight.. the guitar is 5 years old.

I think I know exactly what you’re talking about. On my acoustic (Yamaha FG700S), it slides out extremely easily and I could go online and purchase another for extremely cheap. If you can remove it and replace it with another, that would probably be all you need to do. I’m not sure what model acoustic it is so I can’t tell you for sure.
