Avenged Sevenfold meets Steve Vai

That’s awesome! I’ve had my eye on the Vai Academy thing for a while. I hope one year I can make it happen. Would you tell us more about the whole experience?

It was an educational camp with twice daily rock star performances. They had several breakout classes in the morning and afternoon taught by invited staff and special stars with some opportunity to play along during those classes. The highlight was jamming with Steve and his band during an evening session that usually 3-5 minutes on stage with him; those evening jam sessions lasted past 1am Monday- Thursday nights ! Steve’s fingers were numb he exclaimed!!
It’s not a camp like others where you are in small bands 5-6 people plus your counselor where you might rehearse 3 hrs plus every morning and afternoon. Not a camp like that, more like a school with lectures and some live star performances.
