yesterday I wanted to do the lesson fast and didn’t pay enough attention, today I did it again and understood what was going on, thank you.
I rushed through the lessons myself and realized later k missed a lot
BUT some lessons later on make earlier lessons make more sense so sometimes its worth rushing through them.

Why do the scale shapes change between the c shape and the a shape?

Why do the scale shapes change between the c shape and the a shape?
Well seeing as every chords of the CAGED system of a given note consists of overall all more or less the same notes just in a different place on the fretboard and therefore in most cases of a different pitch, the same sort of applies to scales. A scale of a given key most often starts by the root note of the key as to give it the right context.

In the context of the caged system, it is true that both chords share the same placement of their root note. But since every chord has a scale that basically plays over it and that they are played in different shape, the shape of the scale also changes to adapt to be able tp play over the given chord.

Let me know if this wasn't clear.

Is there a reason why the A shape starts in the 5th position in this lesson?? Is it because the last note of the C shape in the previous lesson was on the 5th??
He's starting there because the 5th fret on the low E string, which we're starting the shape from here, is an A.
