Hey guys!
I’m on lesson 24 – the C Shape of the CAGED System. In this, the lovely Papa Gates talks about using the pentatonic scale notes as chord embellishments to spice up the chord almost. Does anyone know any songs, A7X or others, that uses chord embellishments? I would love some examples of it in real world application, and then maybe I could even learn some covers that utilise this

RHCP, John Mayer and Jimi Hendrix use embellishments all the time! So try finding songs by them that you like and there probably will be embellishments in there.

Buried alive by Avenged Sevenfold definitely comes to mind. Also Roman sky These are to avenged sevenfold songs that I’ve actually worked on before where I can tell you 1st and foremost these are applied I can’t think of anybody else’s music right off the top of my head but if I think of one I will for sure tell you! I’m sure Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits uses it a lot . If you really want to hear the best Form of embellishments for chords, listen to classical guitar or country guitar for sure!
