Amp noob alert. Whats the best cheap amp to play in the house without pissing off the neighbours? And..one that will show the quality of a custom s guitar.( i havent bought it yet, just want to not be disapointed when my rubbish amp doesnt get the a7x sound im after) done extensive research into the guitar so i know what to expect but ive never really experimented with amps and im worried if i get the guitar my amp will not show off its awesome quality.

When you say that you want “the a7x sound”, I hope you’re not expecting to sound like the studio recordings. I’ve never looked into how A7X produces their music, but what’s normal for metal is multiple tracks, often through multiple amps, with sophisticated mic selection and placement, in addition to numerous other important details. Amps don’t sound the same in person as they do through a microphone. When I was a gear noob I vastly underestimated the importance of speakers and microphones. I always assumed that they were minor details, but it turns out they make a huge difference.
Do you have a number of dollars in mind?

I think maybe i expressed it wrong, the ‘a7x sound’ i guess im referring to us more accurately the use of floyd rose trem, divebombs, use of sustaniac etc and general guitar sound but my amp is terrible and is fuzzy and never sounds clean. So just want an amp that wont break the bank but will atleast get a decent sound out of it. About £150 ($190-200 roughly) im looking to spend. Cheers for your help, i realise i sound completely clueless but if you dont ask for help you wont get it haha

I heard some good stuff about the Boss Katana and TBH any amp that isn’t broken will do the things you described just fine maybe you just need to have a bunch of pedals to get the sound you want but an amp that isn’t broken will always sound clean if you want it too. Look into andertons series ‘sound like without busting the bank’ and I think there’s a video somewhere where Joe Satriani plays A $200 rig and sounds great on it. I would say about 60-70% of tone is in the fingers

Look up Marshall code. I got the 100 Watt for $450 but its more power than you would ever need. I run my entire sound system through the amp as well as my custom S. I’ve used both of my Custom S guitars with it and works great. 10/10.
Also, as far as pissing off the neighbors goes, I’m good at doing that but if you don’t want to just use headphones (most amps should have a jack)
