Do the backing vocals fit the chorus?

The second one sounds better but only because the backing vocals are really quiet. Too quiet in my opinion. I think the problem is that they are not synced up with one another. Try soloing only the backing vocals and layer them and then listen if they are synced up or not. If they are not then record them again until it sounds like there’s only one backing vocal singing. After that you can pan each vocal on each side and that’s that.

The backing vocals are synced now and they don’t throw you off like they did in the previous version which is good. But now in my opinion the backing vocals are too loud and they have too much reverb on them. Maybe if they were a bit quieter the reverb wouldn’t be a problem. That’s just my opinion. If you like it this way then keep it.

The main vocal should be the loudest because that’s what the people will focus on and the backing vox need to be quieter than the main vox because their job is to fill the space and not to take the focus away from the main vocals so that’s why I think they should be quieter. Because now if you listen to it the backing vocals really grab your attention away from the main and the reverb makes it take even more space than it should and kinda drowns the main vox

No problem. Yeah it takes a lot of time to mix something. If you are mixing all day it’s good to take a break because your ears get used to the mix and you can’t really tell anymore what sounds good and what sounds bad. So it’s good to take a break and start mixing again for example the next day when your hearing is still “fresh” because you will be able to tell what needs fixing right from the start. But if you are constantly listening to it you just get used to it the way it is and you can’t really do much then.
It sounds alright now. I don’t know if you noticed but the last line that the backing vocals sing is quieter than the rest of the lines. Was that your choice to make is quieter or you just didn’t realise it? That doesn’t mean it’s wrong, I’m just wondering. Also it’s okay to pan the the back vox, they don’t need to be in the middle, it just depends on what you want, if you want a wider image then you pan them, but if you want it “narrower” then you don’t have to pan them.
