Economy Picking/Sweeping Warm-Ups

As a warmup I would probably take both techniques separately. Like strict sweeping and strictly economy picking instead of mixing the two. For sweeping warmup I maybe would start with smaller sweeps like 2-string then 3-string etc. But generally a good idea there’s some good stuff in there!

I Think it’s fine to combine both techniques, even if it’s just for warming up. When you’re playing actual songs you’re also not just gonna stick to 1 technique

I see both points equally but I think it’s an extremely good thing to practice going in to each picking technique interchangeably because there are many solos I’ve attempted (Hail To The King being one) where economy and sweeping is used quite literally back to back.
I only have one thing to point out though. I’m not sure if you actually put in the notes yourself or if the computer generated it this way. But if you indicate the key signature as “Bb Major” therefor you use the flat symbol to indicate the key in the beginning of the staff, you wouldn’t use a sharp sign by the ‘A’ to indicate “A sharp”. It would be best to just have used a B instead of an A# because the key signature already tells us that the B is automatically flatted unless noted otherwise with an accidental. The use of sharp symbols in a flat key during the measures are only for accidental purposes, like how it reads D# on your sheet music.
But I definitely loved this! I’m gonna give it a try sometime soon! Thanks for sharing with us! It’s really impressive that you came up with this. Do you have a video of you performing it so we have something to model ourselves after? That would be super awesome!!!

@jak Angelescu – Thanks for pointing that out! I assumed that the notation software would be able to tell the difference between the key of A# and Bb but apparently not haha. I did the SoundSlice in such a hurry that I didn’t even check the above notation. (Although I did notice that when I used the Fretboard view window it was naming my Bb as an A#, which was annoying)
There were a few accidentals in the warm-up, so it is technically a Bb Major Bebop type line (There’s definitely a b5 in there somewhere in one of the lines)
I’m glad you liked it though! I really appreciate the feedback I’m gonna stick up a video of me playing it soon once I can get it clean enough down and I’d love to see other people’s take on it!
