Yup. Plugged it into the spider 5. And EVERYTHING went silent. Updated the amp. Same thing. Now I’m finding.onpine the amp might be mistakening it for the express..HOW DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN!?
Even unplugged. No sound. Are you telling me this pedal just killed my amp because I’m going to be VERY upset if that’s the case. And I’m going to blame line 6 for failing to advertise that it doesnt work with the spider 5v 120 because there is no notice anywhere that it does not work.. I looked before buying it. It said just the 3. Not the 5.
Does anyone know what is going on this is clearly a digital patch issue and I have no idea how to fix it.

For anyone who’s cared to follow this thread.
Lost all my presets i made last night when I had a battery die on me and thought the pedal glitched again lol.
So today I made some new tones. Boss got back to me and said I CAN use the library to create certain tones on me me 25. So it will work for me. So I’m readding it.
I took my spider 5 today and went though all the amp clean tones with my me 25 distortion on. For anyone curious. My setting is ultra metal for distortion. It sounds so grundgey. Full drive and tone. So I took the usual tone i use. And went into the settings. It’s the jazz setting. That explains why it sounds so good. Lol
Always had issues finding a lead tone with my me 25. If the clean tone is jazz tho it’s probably chorusy.. so that may explain that. So I went into the amp settings and changed the clean tone constantly til I found one I liked on the distortion. Then I changed the stack model of that amp til I found one I liked. Then the mic model.
Added effects and whatnot after. This new lead tone isnt as thick sounding.. but you also cant hesr my picking as clear when I shred. I’m gonna try to mix the try up tonight after the hockey game. See how it sounds together. I can still recreate my old lead tone if I need to. That’s the insane switch on the line 6 amp. But like I said you could hear my picking a lot and it was a little too fuzzy.
The frustration may end up being worth it in the end.

You may want to reach out to Ed on all these questions. As I told you on Instagram I’m such a tard when it comes to stuff like this. It was just last week I learned how to use a pedal board :/ But I know this has been an issue for you for some time so I hope you get it figured out!

Tough to say without hearing, but for adding dirt to a clean tone, here are some things to keep in mind:
No chorus or compression. These are both VERY common on clean-tone presets, and if you’re adding distortion or gain, avoid tones with any of this as much as possible. Distortion and gain have compression built in as part of the effect itself, so adding the kind of compressor that makes a clean tone sparkle turns dirt to shit. Chorus is also bad, unless it’s a specific effect you’re going for.
It sounds like you may be dealing with one or both.
To thicken up, delay and reverb are your friends, but not your BEST friends – they’re the kind of friends you only want a quick visit with, not taking a vacation together. In other words, if you can explicitly hear either while you’re playing, you have WAY too much. For rhythm tones, I keep the timings short and the wet/dry mix at 7 or 8%. For lead tones, timings can be longer (200ms or a little more, to taste) and 12-15% mix.
Those are good guidelines you can start with, and then fine tune to your own taste and style.

Yeah.. Google was saying the same.. 160 ish .. my pedal adds 120ms max on low delay (3 options). So I’m probably around the same as you for rhythm.
Maybe I can mess around with some clean tones this weekend. Theres tons in there. I got some designed. I find my grunge pedal I’d amazing for a nice juicy less tone but then issue is it’s also really nasty sounding cause it’s old lol. But I gotta say after the factory reset the lead tone I got from the grudge was the best I’ve heard it in years. Maybe that’s why.. the tones I made recently were clean and had none of those effects.
