Hey guys! I tried tackling the first half of the Hail To The King solo as a tutorial. It’s long for a reason, as I tried to cover a lot of questions/problems people have been tending to have with it. I’d appreciate some feedback on how I do before I make it public, I’d really appreciate it!!

Again, it’s overwhelming to see what effort you put in your videos and teaching! Did not do it through the full video as I won’t start working on the solo now, but saw the “intro” and some parts in the middle and I think you did really great. Just one thing that I prefer when watching solo tutorials, which you maybe could bring in a little more in future videos, is that you could play the parts you are just teaching at full speed first and maybe then and there while teaching, so you always have a feel where you want to go melodicly. Because when focusing on getting the notes down I often lose myself and can’t remember the melody I actually should go for. Maybe it’s just me though!

So much info in this video, I think everyone should actually try this, even if its just the first part. I think its a good finger exercise. I may take some time to play it out. Lots of finger movement in here for sure. And the wrist vibrato is one vibrato I dont do enough. So it’d be a good exercise to get the strength up. I love how indepth you went, even in the easier part of the solo. Cant wait to see how the more complicated parts are laid out.

Thank you very much for that kind feedback, Calvin! I went into detail even on the easier part of the solo because there are so many details that people leave out that make the solo sound the way it sounds. I hope you like the second part! It’s processing right now 🙂 because it’s almost 2 hours long because I combined both the first and the second part, it’s going to take a while
