Happy birthday to a living legend of rock n’ roll and heavy metal! I’m sure I can speak for all of us that we all hope he has the best day ever relaxing, taking care of himself, and spending quality time with those he loves!

I know if I got to meet him, I would tell him thanks for everything he’s done. Because he doesn’t know it, but he’s one of my singer’s biggest influences not just in music, but in life. She grew up loving astronomy and philosophy, so when The Stage came out, she was beyond thrilled to see all the things he had taken interest in. I would also tell him that he inspired her to not take what people say so literally, and also is a role model for her in the aspects of rising above and beyond all the bullshit and to really let music be your number one passion. When she found out he played piano, she took her studies with it more seriously. She was always told, “If you want to be a singer, that’s all you can focus on if you want to be anything.” But then she found out he helped write a lot of riffs on guitar, arrange things, AND play piano. He also doesn’t seem to care about the petty bullshit drama of the music industry. So all in all, I would tell him thank you for just being his badass self, and for having one of the most amazing voices that quite literally has helped soothe inner trauma for me.
