How do you get a rammstein style sound?

I have been listening to lots of Rammstein lately and I really want that guitar sound. I can’t really describe it but it has a razor like attack and has lots of weight behind it. Does anyone know what they are using or how it can be done on a budget?
As always, any help is appreciated.

Music like that has layers of guitar tracks to get that heavy, beefy sound. So make sure you don’t have expectations to get that same sound with just your raw amp, pedals and guitar. As far as what exact gear they use I couldn’t tell you to me their sound almost reminds me of a solid state amp I had. But I know they probably have loads of effects going into that tone. I’ll see if I can find anything out for ya!

Basically the simpler settings that I used were like this: Gain 4 , Bass 6.5, Mid 6.5, Treble 6, Presence 5.5 and I used a overdrive pedal with very little gain. (keep in mind that this track isn’t mixed or mastered, it’s just raw recording)

Good lord haha, that is a seriously good tone, has a nice bite to it, I will definitely look around for options as the axe fx isn’t something i have considered.

Actually, an Octave pedal pre-distortion could get you there. Also a non-pedal half-rack like a Boss SE-50 would give you up to 4 different pitches layering and they tend to run less than most pedals. The better part of a SE-50 or SE-70 is that you can offset the pitches by milliseconds almost like a pre-delay. This will beef up your sound immensely. I use this technique on my vocals (3630 compressor -> Votech 300 w/ 2 pitches at 0 delay -> SE-50 w/ 4 pitches at varying delays). The offset pitches also tend to lend a bit of non-amplification distortion. Not sure if this is a weakness of the hardware, or if it just something sonically that comes from all the pitches offset and layered. Also, unlike an octave pedal you can go more than 1-2 octaves up/down, essentially giving yourself a bass pitch if you wanted to do that. Think Hanzel Und Gretyl or later Rammstein (though neither use these exact techniques).

I’m not a guitarist. I’m a synth player/programmer who works with thousands of various effects on my music and am a huge fan of Neue Deutsche Harte.

Not sure if you will achieve the typical rammstein sound because of reasons others already established, but this thing really gets you a crunchy, punching sound what I heard in demos. Especially with the natural noisegate.

Just researched Rammfire a bit more and I am f***ing stunned, I downloaded the demo previously and it wasn’t great, there is something about the demo compared to the real version I am definitely buying it as i have seen videos where the tone is dead on what I need. I will also look into other alternatives to see if I can get even closer

Hey my dudes, I was wondering if someone could do me a favour. I have the Multi tracks for Du Hast and my idea was to amp match but I do not have that capability on Bias FX, it is available on Bias Amp but I don’t want to fork out another £100 for one feature so I was curious to know if anyone would be able to amp match for me, I am also unsure how to use Bias Amp patches in Bias FX. Any advice is appreciated.
