how is the process of recording a complete song?

hey buddies i want some ilumination of how is the process of recording a song, i mean what instruments i have to record first? in general all about of recording and mixing cuz im working on that for my songs but i dont know how i should proceed thank you for your time and have a really nice and productive day

What I do is
1.Record Scratch guitars
2.Program drums
3.Record real guitars
4.Bass
5.Leads or harmonies
6.Mix instruments for instrumental
7.Vocals
8.Mix again with Vocals

Some tracks don’t need scratch guitars before drums, and in some cases you might record bass before guitars, but that’s the long and short of it!

thanks guys i will try to do that way, do you know any good plugins for base? cuz i dont have a bass and i don’t know any bassist here on my city haha, so i want to use a vst, can you recommend me one?

Try looking for a bass midi or something I actually have a bass so I don’t know any good ones

Ample bass lite 2 is good free plugin. The only downside is that the lowest note it can produce is E3 i think so you can’t really use it if your song is in let’s say drop d

I realized something today and figured I’d add it here. When recording you tend to be able to listen at higher dbs. I usually turn it way up so its higher then my mic. Always remember to turn them BACK down after. I’m doing that currently and it’s annoying lol. Every single one.
