On a good day I can get a 6-7 fret stretch, its completely useless because it’s near impossible to do fast and seamless, and what’s the point of a 7 feet stretch.
hahah too funny…my Fiancé and I recently randomly ran into Syn at our hotel..she shows her dad the pic and he stereotypically says..”No wonder he can play so good..look how big is hands are” hahaha
I think mine are small. I can do 7 and 8 fret stretches depending on where on the neck I am. But you’re right Syn’s fingers seem pretty long/slinky. I’mean still trying to figure out how he does the Bbsus2#11 in Roman Sky.
OMG right Ids? That chord is nuts!! I don’t think I’ll ever be able to play it the same way he does because it literally puts my fingers in the worst pain! But I just changed the chord shape to help. I have to strum a certain way to get the same effect but it works!
I’m going slowly through the first sweep etude and some of those stretches are killing me, even with the shorter scale of the PRS (25). I don’t dare try them on the Ibanez (25.5), and the Schecter 7 string (26.5)? FORGET IT.
Steve Vai has said in an interview he “willed” his left hand to be bigger..hah you guys could try that. And I find it interesting that John 5 started playing at like the age of 6 and his left hand is bigger than his right…it’s like it grew to the guitar
