So I just came back from doing all my school work and busting my ass off and while I'm waiting for my new work from school I came here to practice guitar and when I started I really want to start somewhat of a daily routine for my fingers because I was doing the lesson about the C Major chord family; C Dm Em F G Am & Bdim. So its like DM chord on the 5th fret like those kinds of chords that I need to work on. So I need somewhat of a daily routine for my finger. Also, I think some of you won't understand what I'm saying because of my grammar so yeah.

I like to play in this pattern with 1, 3, 4 fingers and move slowly up the fingerboard, then again using 1, 2, 4 fingers.
not sure what this exercise is called, but pretty effective :)
It's important to play slow. Hope it helps

    Hey Gabe!

One strange technique that has helped me massively with stretching & chord shapes in general, is that when you get the chord shape you want to change into, it can help to practice holding the shape in on the fretboard (much harder than normal) for 10 whole seconds, and then repeat. I used it for Diminished 7th chords (my hand/fingers just couldn't grasp the shape) and after a couple of times with the technique my hand/fingers started to just land on the shape automatically. This is due to muscle memory!

It's sort of like you're training your hand/finger's muscle memory on how to grip the chord shape with 120% strength when all you really need is 100% or less, so that when you've trained your hand/fingers to strictly stay in that position at 120% strength then changing to and from the shape will feel more natural and only a normal amount of effort/strength will be needed get you there. It's strange but it has definitely worked for me!

    Hope this helps 🤟
