It’s not bad! Everyone starts from the beginning So Far Away is a good one to start with if you want an Avenged song. Go on youtube and in the video settings you can change the playback speed. Change it from 1 to 0.75 or 0.5, then listen to the solo and try and figure it out one note at a time. It can help to watch covers or live videos to see what position on the fretboard they’re roughly in, then use your ear to find the right notes.
Pick solos that are slow and sound reasonably simple at first until you get the hang of it. Hope that helps
