Learning notes of the fretboard

Hey all,
After learning how to play exclusively via tabs for the last 10 years I’ve decided learning music theory is a much better option after being inspired by a few of Rick Beato’s youtube videos. My goal at the moment is to try and learn all the notes on the fretboard as I understand that will be a big help in learning more advanced stuff later on. My question is this: are there any tips or strategies, or even maybe a few exercises that will help me accomplish this?

I did a progress video almost a year ago to show people that you actually do make progress every day even if you practise only 5 minutes a day. So what I did was I tired to learn all the notes on the fretboard in 30 days by practising only 5 minutes a day. Here’s the progress video:

Knowing the fretboard is NOT about “thinking” every note you play in a solo or lick. That would be impossible. It’s about reference points. So if you want to start a lick or a scale on F# note on the A string – you know where that is.

PG is right! Knowing the fretboard is just knowing where you can find the notes your looking for and it mostly counts for the opening and last notes of what you play(because everything in between tends to kinda follow naturally from the note you start with and the note your ending on)
