Lesson 7??

Hi everyone
I’m working on the major scale. In lesson 7 PG plays C 3 5, 2 3 5, 2 4 5.
I know the whole whole half whole Whole whole half.
But my question is if I want to play for example the G major does it matter on what string I start and which G note on the fretboard. I’m confused with that. I know the notes but you can play so many patterns. Or do I just follow how PG plays it in the lesson. Maybe a dumb question but I’m really a beginner.
Hope you guys and girls understand what I want to say.

NOT A DUMB QUESTION AT ALL.
YES!!! You can play the G major scale on ANY string, and start on ANY G note ANYWHERE on the neck! As long as you follow the formula, it’s still a G pattern! Yes, you can play so many patterns. I mean, it’s really endless. But the fun thing is to explore what patterns you can play, because down the road, they will ALL help you out and be beneficial! Hope this helps!

Thanks! This helps a lot. Because there is so much information and then I’m not sure if I am doing it right.
