OK I already have a question. How the hell do you count 12/8 timing?

Basically it’s like an up tempo waltz. Most blues tunes are actually in 12/8. Count by 3
1-2-3 1-2-3 1-2-3 1-2-3

Yes! It’s basically a mid tempo 4/4 but your counting the 1/8 note triplets. Emphasis on the first and third 1/8 note. That’s “swing”.

I motif all the time. That's how I build my improvs at the beginning. Always trying to change it up the 2nd time around so it's not boring.

Hey Syn! Quick question for fractal users, what amp model did you use while recording 'The Stage' i use a 5153 100w Red channel for most of my tones on the other albums but i have the stage cab pack and was wondering if you used a different amp model!

Maybe so, but I know he got his axe fx III I believe around the same time, he has a video where he talks about how nice it was to dial in the presets and paramaters and also there are a couple of what appears to be FXII's in the background so id be inclined to believe he used Fractal

I'm curious about this, too. Was the Fractal sounds modeled after The Stage? Or did you also use it on the actual record?

I honestly always thought he used His Hellwin on the record but got effects like delay and chorus from the Axe-fx but what do I know

I think he made the tones for the tour. So it's possible they were on the record. But most of his tones looked to be made in videos for the tour.

I used my Hellwin for The Stage and modeled my fav tones afterward on the AFX3 which are Paradigm, Creating God, and Exist. Not sure what amp Block’s we started with at the moment

That’s what I was doing live until 2017 when I moved solely to the AFX3
