Both have a .5w setting for bedroom practice, the 100w has an effects loop so will be better at handling pedals. Maybe bring up the features online, side by side, compare the two and see if the differences are worth the extra money, size and weight to you.

Edit: The 100w also takes the GA-FC footswitch where the 50w doesn't.

I almost bought a Katana and from all I've read and seen on YT it's probably a really good buy. I have the Fender Mustang LT25 and it is awesome. Simple, plenty of power for bedroom/office jamming and it gets LOUD. Really nice set of built in modeling and sooo easy to edit any of them and save out. In hindsight I'd have purchased a GT model as you can download patches made by the Fender Tone community. That being said though, you can easily pick a tone from the site and dial it in to save on the LT. For the money it is a great little practice amp and would do well in a party jam I think.

The Fender Mustang 1 was my First and and I Just recently switched to the Boss Katana 100. I do Like the features the Mustang has but always felt I need to tweak the tone via software to get some decent Sounds. As with the Boss I just Twist some knobs and have all I need for a great sound. No need to Go through a lot of digital pedal Options. But that's Just Personal taste and preferences I guess.

    UPDATE
@Ed Seith I'm giving the MT15 a go at the weekend. If I can get a good volume to use at my house (2 bed house with a house either side, hopefully should be able to get the volume right) then I'm gonna get it!

Awesome! Love to hear your thoughts once you've played with it a bit!

I also own the Katana 50 watt and it’s a mean fucking amp! Plus I live in an apartment as well and I love the fact that if I’m not wanting to blow the windows out, then I can power it down to as low as .5 watts! And even at that wattage it still breaks up pretty nice. I definitely recommend it brother
