Hey guys like I have been saying for months I was gonna improve my recordings. Well with the move I’ve had the house to myself this week and lost mornings til I leave I have tons of time to do vocals as well as guitar and bass. Until I find a drummer lll refrain from adding these songs to spotify yet. But essentially I’m ready to show them. I’m gonna be looking for opinions. Theres a few who will get direct links.
I’m giving it a month before I toss the songs onto spotify. The opinions I’m looking for are mixing opinions and not personal (i dont like your scream/voice/lyrics). These songs werent written for you if you dont like them. It’s that simple.
With that said. If youd like to hear the songs please PM me. Or hit me up on my fb. Or Instagram. I’m going to be offering a couple songs on my reverbnation site until the whole thing gets dropped. If youd like the whole album I’m offering it for a low price of 5 dollars. As much as I’d like to give it away for free I kinda could use the extra cash. Im betting very few actually pay and will probably wait but if you’re eager and wanted to help a dude out. A 5 dollar pay pal transaction is nothing.
If you know any drummers who’d be interested in helping me create drums let me know. One student offered her service last year but vanished. She was probably busy in school. I’m looking for someone to basically do session fill drums. Program or not. Doesnt matter. The rhythm patterns are simple and more punk based on this album as it’s my older stuff so I dont need anything fancy. I’d do it myself but I struggle doing realistic drum patterns.. I’m not a real drummer lol.
Here is a link to the song I uploaded on reverbnation.

I choose this song because I did it on my acoustic video last week. Can’t remember if I posted it here. Let me know what you think. One thing I do know is I need a new mic lol.

Hard to gauge a mix without drums that belong there, you know?
For starters, did you record to a solid click, so adding drums can be done? If so, EZDrummer is good – you can find the beats already made and just plug them in, and they sound really good.
Your vocal needs compression to even the levels out, and you might want to add some reverb, too, to make them less “in your face.” The bass probably needs some compression too, but again, without a steady beat to reference, it’s hard to gauge.
I’d definitely want to hear a more cohesive mix of this with drums added in. Without that which you intend to exist, I can’t hear what you’re hearing in your head (your brain adds the phantom drums, you know?)

Theres mixing that definitely is still required too I agree there but without drums I’m definitely not rushing to fix those issues. Messing with compression is also something I’m not used to.
And yes they were done to a click there are just places where I paused an eighth or two more then i should and that’s the issue where I had to move things around and it didnt sound normal. I tried ezdrums and I got annoyed because nothing sounded good to me. Some beats are not your usual beats.
