Not going anywhere currently but I was at the Iron Maiden Legacy of the Beast tour and I have to say they have the BEST live production. They literally had an airplane flying above their head, each song had a different theme, Bruce changed like 10 outfits, they had a 4 meters tall Eddie mascot…. it was insane.

Ooh that sounds awesome. I wanted to go but didn’t due to money and not being able to get it home after the concert. I saw Guns N Roses. They didn’t nescecarily have the best production or anything and Axl Rose didn’t sing well the first five songs but hey kinda have the example of how I like a rock show to be. They played for 3.5 hours and there were jams all over the place.

@Ed in your opinion, were they better in ’87 or ’17? I feel like they got reborn in the 21st century and got even better. Their last tour is the best one they ever had imo because you just can’t believe what they are doing and what’s happening on the stage. I definetly recommend watching one of the concerts from Legacy of the Beast on youtube because you don’t see that everyday.

Hard to say, to be honest. I’ve seen Maiden in 87 (Somewhere in Time), 88 (Seventh Son), 99 (reunion, before Brave New World) and now 17 for Book of Souls.
87 was my first metal concert, but we were in the second to last row in the nosebleed seats at a show that got WAY out of hand.

88 was a less notorious show, but the seats were no better. 99 was at the Greek Theater in LA, which is smaller, but I honestly only remember the show being “good.”
17, I had floor seats with my daughter, and I got to stand in front of H and Davey playing together like it was the 80s all over again, and for nostalgia reasons, I was in absolute heaven.
That said, from a performance perspective, they were ALWAYS on top of their game, every show I saw. Thankfully, I never saw them in the mid-90s during The Dark Ages.
I have one of the Legacy shows downloaded and I plan to watch it soon! Thanks!
